We believe in complete transparency. Here is exactly what the publication fee covers — and what it does not.
How We Are Funded
Global Supply Chain Insights is a free-to-read, open-access publication. There are no subscription fees, paywalls, or registration requirements for readers. To sustain the editorial, design, and operational work required to publish at a professional standard, we charge a publication fee to authors whose articles are accepted.
This model — common among open-access publications across professional and academic publishing — ensures that the costs of producing quality content are borne by those who benefit from the professional platform, rather than by the readers who benefit from free access.
What the Fee Covers
The publication fee is an all-inclusive operational charge. It covers the following:

| Developmental Editing | Structural and substantive editing to improve clarity, flow, and argument. |
| Copyediting & Proofreading | Line-level editing for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and accuracy. |
| Professional Design & Layout | Formatting and visual design of your article to the GSC Insights house style. |
| Digital Publishing & Hosting | Online publication on the GSC Insights platform, hosted in perpetuity at no ongoing cost to the author. |
| DOI Assignment | Registration of a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef, making your article permanently citable. |
| Author Profile Page | A dedicated, permanent author profile on the GSC Insights website. |
| Newsletter Promotion | Feature in the GSC Insights monthly newsletter, distributed to our subscriber base. |
| Author Badge & Certificate | A digital "As Published in GSC Insights" badge and certificate of publication. |
| PDF Download | A professionally formatted PDF of your published article for personal and professional distribution. |
What the Fee Does Not Cover — and Does Not Influence
The publication fee is charged only after an article has been accepted. It is not a submission fee, and submission is free of charge. Payment of the fee does not guarantee publication. The fee plays no role in the acceptance or rejection of any submission. Editorial decisions are made entirely on merit, prior to any discussion of fees.

Refund and Withdrawal Policy
Authors who withdraw their article before the editing process commences are entitled to a full refund of the publication fee. Once developmental editing has begun, a partial refund representing the unrendered portion of services may be issued at the Editor's discretion. No refund is available after an article has been published. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Editor via the Contact page.
Separation of Donation and Editorial Streams
GSC Insights also accepts voluntary reader donations in support of our open-access mission. These donations support the ongoing operational costs of the publication and contribute to the Editor's PhD research in supply chain management at a UK university. Donation income and publication fee income are managed entirely separately. Donors receive no editorial influence or preferential treatment in the submission process. This separation is maintained as a matter of editorial principle.
